Laughter Gong is a combination of two incredible stress busters combined, Gong Meditation and Laughter Yoga (Hasyayoga) Exercises.
There are many similarities to the benefits of prolonged Laughter and Gong Meditation as they are both excellent at boosting general wellness and reducing stress and anxiety then add to the mix the Healing benefits of Gong, Wow!!
The Session
We will start with around 25 minutes of Laughter Yoga followed by a super relaxing and healing 40 minute Gong Meditation.
What is Laughter Yoga
In a nutshell Laughter yoga is a practice involving prolonged voluntary laughter along with yogic breathing techniques that originate from Yoga. Laughter Yoga gives us an opportunity for extended deep belly laughter. This is the type of laughter that gives us all the health benefits and the benefits can remain with us for some time after the session! The body reacts in the same way whether the laughter is forced or natural, releasing the endorphins (happy hormones). It is these endorphins that kick in and fight stress, boost our immune system and make us feel good in so many ways.
Some of the Health Benefits from Laughter Yoga
Laughter Elevates Mood and can change your mood within minutes by releasing endorphins from your brain cells. This makes you feel good.
Laughter Yoga reduces stress and strengthens the immune system. It can also help with Pain Relief.
All in all, a workshop that will benefit you in many ways. Fantastic for stress relief, relaxation, insomnia and more. Many people report back as having had ‘the best night’s sleep’ after having attended a gong meditation.
Followed by a Journey of Sound to Relax and De-Stress whilst bathing in layers of Sound.
What happens in a Gong Bath ?
You lie down fully clothed on a camping/yoga mat on the floor, warm and cosy with a blanket covering you whilst the Gongs and other Therapeutic instruments are played. The experience can feel different each and every time and for each person whilst you are gently immersed and massaged by the healing vibrations. Most commonly you will drift in to a space of deep relaxation ( a meditative state brought on by the sounds of the instruments ) you may fall asleep for some of the time, you may feel that you travel with the sounds, you may even see visions, perhaps colours or even hear other sounds. Most importantly at the end, you can feel brighter, lighter, less stressed and re-energised. The gongs can also be very healing, helping to bring your mind, body and soul in to balance and even clear blockages. At the very least you are most likely to have a damn good sleep which is great for those suffering from insomnia. Some people report back as having felt the benefits and effects even a few days after the Gong Bath.
Note for those unable to lie down, it is possible to remain seated in a chair. Lying down is the
No experience necessary. All that is required is a willingness to accept and receive and a willingness to laugh for no reason.
Please note the gong bath is best received when lying down comfortably however it is possible for anyone who can not lie down to receive the gong bath seated in a chair. (Please let us know in advance so that we can ensure that we have a chair for you)
IMPORTANT What should I bring
Wear loose comfortable clothing. Please bring water, (laughter is like a cardio workout!) a yoga mat or similar, a blanket or sleeping bag and cushion or pillow for total relaxation and warmth. Body temperature can drop rapidly during the gong bath. You will be lying down for around 40 minutes.
